A smart home allows people to optimise home technologies and utilities to improve, enhance, and simplify people's day-to-day lives.

From a smart home control, you can access and control utilities and equipment such as:

  • Interior and exterior lighting
  • Home security
  • Home access
  • Intercoms
  • Audio and visual equipment
  • Windows, blinds and curtains
  • Heating and cooling
  • Pool pumps
  • Irrigation
  • Garage doors and much more
Analog cameras are fairly easy to run, sending recordings to a digital video recorder (DVR), which then converts the analog to digital and stores it. DVRs are also simple to set up and run, there is no need for wifi connectivity too.
An IP camera, or internet protocol camera, is a type of digital security camera that receives and sends video footage via an IP network. They are commonly used for surveillance. Unlike analog closed-circuit television cameras (CCTV), IP cameras do not require a local recording device, only a local network
Wireless security cameras are less invasive to your home than wired cameras, so they set up easier and faster. No drilling through walls or ceilings is required. Wireless cameras also are more flexible than wired systems because they aren't as tied down by wires.

Dome Camera

Small with a rounded dome and robust structure design, dome CCTV cameras have high quality and clear imaging against a strong backlight and have a wider view range than traditional security cameras. Other than being more conspicuous than traditional cameras, they are also water and dust resistant.

Pan-Tilt-Zoom Camera

The pan-tilt-zoom (PTZ) cameras work by moving in different directions either manually or autonomously to get a whole picture of a large area. The CCTV camera can be operated in real-time or on a schedule and allows the camera to turn and track. This makes it ideal for following a target.

Bullet Camera

A good robust structure design sporting a tubular shape and instantly recognisable on the side of a building, bullet cameras have high-quality imaging against a strong backlight. They are also water and dust resistant, and exceptionally good for general-purpose recording.

Smart Camera

The main difference between a CCTV camera and smart security camera is efficiency. While a CCTV camera runs for hours recording each and every second, the smart cameras choose the right moments. Therefore, smart cameras are easy to monitor and search for an 'event'.

Fisheye Camera

Ideal for getting clear visibility over a large open plan building, including warehouses and car parks. Fisheye cameras offer panoramic views or 360-degree views of their surroundings. Water-resistant and vandal-proof, fisheye cameras are robust security cameras.

Hidden Camera

Even though hidden cameras are sometimes used outside the house for home security, some perpetrators may use them for nefarious purposes, such as snooping on your personal life and invading your privacy.
